Questions, answered.

Made-to-order

Why does it take time?

Every pair is made by hand once you order. A solid earring takes about an hour. A handpainted one takes 2–3 hours. We don't make anything until someone asks for it — that's the point.

What if I need it sooner?

Write to us. Sometimes we can rearrange the queue for urgent orders. Email hello@cropoffs.com with the date you need it by.

Can I see progress?

Once your order begins, we send a photo when it's done. If you'd like updates earlier, just ask.

What's the surprise pair?

Every set of three pairs you order travels with a surprise fourth, chosen by me. Sometimes it's from one of the collections. Sometimes it's a piece that isn't released yet — a design I've been making in the studio that hasn't found its place in the catalog. The surprise is real. You only see it when you open the box.

Every additional set of three earns another. Six paid pairs come with two surprises, nine with three, and so on.

The pieces

What are they made of?

A hard chipboard base, layered with waterproof paint. The hooks are nickel-free surgical steel.

Are they heavy?

No. They are lighter than they look.

Will the paint last?

Yes. The paint is waterproof and built up in layers — it does not peel.

Shipping

Where do you ship?

Globally. Free shipping within India on orders above ₹999.

How long does it take?

5–7 working days within India after the pair is made. International shipping varies by country — usually 10–14 days.

What about customs?

International customs and duties are paid by the customer. We mark packages honestly.

Care

How do I clean them?

A gentle wipe with a clean damp cloth. No soap, no harsh cleaners.

How do I store them?

Wrap them in tissue, or store them separately from other accessories. The fabric base can pick up color if pressed against other items.

Can I get them wet?

Light rain or a splash is fine — they're waterproof. We wouldn't recommend swimming in them.

Sustainability

Where does the fabric come from?

Local tailors in Anand who would otherwise throw their scraps away. We collect, sort, and reclaim.

Is the packaging really plastic-free?

Yes. Brown paper, brown card, no plastic — including the tape.

What about the paint?

Acrylic paint, sealed. Not the most natural choice — but the most archival one for the wear and longevity we want each pair to have.

The brand

Who makes these?

Do you do wholesale?

We've started saying yes to a few small, considered stores. Write to us.
